I'll be the first to admit that I can write stuff that's serious and intense at times. Therefore, on Fridays I'll be featuring something more lighthearted, fun and creative, so we can all end the week on a high note. Have a great weekend!
As a kid, I was fascinated with Calder's mobiles and was even lucky enough to play with some of these. It's such an engaging way to make art more interesting and more immersive. I doubt that these would still be publicly accessible, let alone touched by the hands of destructive children.
Neil Mendoza has created another kind of interactive art that I wish I could play with. I haven't seen it in person, but the concept alone is incredibly enticing.
It's at the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, but if you ask me, I think it would be more at home at the Carnegie Museum of Art so that adults can play with it too.
