It's often hard to watch movies in a different language, even with subtitles, as a lot of cultural and language subtleties end up being lost, especially with comedies.
However, some supremely talented actors can convey 90% of the story visually. Louis de Funès is one of them. Even if you don't speak french, you'll still be able to greatly enjoy his films because most of his humour was visual, dare I say he was the granddaddy of French slapstick.
If cartoons existed in real life, he would be it.
