An architect by training, I was born in Grenoble, France, where I lived until my early twenties. Growing up surrounded by grandiose mountains which I hiked, climbed and skied my entire life, I developed an idiosyncratic love for natural landscapes and by extension, the natural order. I am most touched by beauty that is derived from ordering principles and structures found in nature.
As an inherently creative person, it is not until later in life that I found my calling as an architect and a few years after that, as an architectural photographer and then a specialist in architectural culture and communications. In everything I did ever since I can remember, I brought a creative side that often got me categorized as a bit quirky, but that was always deeply satisfying to my insatiable curiosity and thirst for the new and unusual. These are character traits that I still cherish and nurture to this day, as they allow me to see things from a different perspective.
I have a lifelong love affair for two-wheeled modes of transportation, particularly motorcycles, which I justify as props for my photoshoots. The overwhelming feeling of freedom that one experiences riding a bike provides an ideal form of focused escape from this over-connected life. I am also partial to 1979 - 1999 hip-hop, german sports cars, jazz, classic menswear, shoes, french cuisine and wandering aimlessly while building stream-of-consciousness narratives in my head.
Starting revelateur in 2014 brought these multiple personalities together and allowed me to reconcile slightly schizophrenic and opposite lifestyles: the hip cosmopolitan urbanite vs. the outdoorsy nature lover, though I am still terrified of spiders.

“I wanted to message to say that I'm really enjoying your podcast.
I think you're providing a unique and needed voice on issues from the scale of policy to practice. I like how you drive the conversation towards practical solutions. It's refreshing certainly for podcasts because I find most fall into two buckets: (i) a pure marketing exercise where the guest is selling a good or service; (ii) a navel-gazing exercise where the academics or theorists speculate about change but don't have a lot of experience doing it.
Another architecture podcast that I like is Scaffold. But I think it falls more in bucket #2. That's not to say it doesn't provide value because I think it does. It helps me percolate on design concepts and approaches. But I think Single Serves has the potential to drive change.
I especially liked your conversations with Toon Dreessen on procurement and Tura Cousins-Wilson on preservation. Those are two areas where we do a really poor job in Canada.”

"Revelateur Studio photography has captured an accurate representation of each of our buildings. Arnaud's background in architectural design is reflected in his appreciation to see each project's structural and aesthetic qualities. Emphasis on perspective control, depth of field and use of ambient light, communicate the harmony of each structure within their natural environments. Along with post-processing, a balanced lighting scheme is achieved resulting in the images being viewed as an art form."

"By this end of this week, KSa will have submitted 4 RFPs and made one interview presentation. These submissions benefitted from the quick turn around on images we asked you to produce. We were quite pleased with the results; we certainly did not give you very photogenic spaces, yet we have useable images. I hope to have another project for you to shoot soon---which will involve interior photographs of refitted residential corridors."
