One person can turn a superstar team of colleagues into a poorly performing one almost overnight, as recounted in this tale of two nurses. All it takes is one bad apple that doesn't fit within the existing dynamic.
While finding the right person for a job is incredibly hard, it's something we all have to keep doing until the right fit is found. Lately, there have been too many examples of what not to do in the news, whether it's Facebook declaring war on its employees working from home or a local manager taking over a team in which they don't belong, workplace leaders have a duty to relentlessly assess their employees, and particularly the ones in positions of leadership, for fit.
With more heart-based leadership, we can make the workplace an environment where people are happy to be and have the ability to grow at the same time.
I just conducted an interview with Tatiana Soldatova of Syllable on that very topic. Stay tuned for it!
