Turning Brick Into Carpet-like Patterns

I'll be the first to admit that I can write stuff that's serious and intense at times. Therefore, on Fridays I'll be featuring something more lighthearted, fun or creative, so we can all end the week on a high note. Have a great weekend!

I love when a given material is used in to emulate forms and patterns that wouldn't normally be associated with it. Arthur-Louis Ignoré did just that by laying brick in the way a traditional woven carpet would be to honour the history and legacy of Rennes's Courrouze neighbourhood, a historically industrial neighbourhood undergoing massive revitalization.

I love that the pattern takes on different aspects depending on whether it's viewed up close or from up high in the air.
