A few months ago I wrote about the social media diet, and how I left social media for 30 days to see if I would miss it. Turns out I didn't at all.
Amid the craziness of the past few months, and the mounting empirical evidence that people on social media have gone mad (twitter is a cesspool of stupidity, save for a few islands of sanity, which are increasingly starting to leave as well). I finally disabled my account for good, meaning that you won't find me on there anymore.
The final nail in the coffin for me is the glut of misinformed and often downright wrong (read disproven by sound science) parade of opinions, with an unseemly side of extreme intolerance. The unbearable cancel culture is now used to suppress speech from people with differing opinions that don't toe the party line.
What happened to civility and the sanctity of free speech?
