Earlier this year, I set a goal of publishing something every day, one piece at a time as a continuation of what I endeavoured to do over 3 years ago: write regularly with the explicit goal of writing an average of 3000 words/month, in addition to running 2 podcasts and doing other kinds of things with other people.
As I near a total of 36,000 words written for the year, instead of pushing for more, I want to pause, reflect and give some thought to this writing practice I've developed in order to see if there are other ways to continue the practice that serves both you and me better.
Writing every day is a huge commitment that requires discipline and military-like organization. Sometimes it also becomes a little forced as writing something becomes more important than what is actually being written.
I want to avoid that as much as possible and write about things that are interesting and useful, from the perspective of marketing creative services. While I'm not stopping all writing between now and the end of the year, I will release myself from the obligation of posting something every day and use that extra time to think about what this blog can become in the future.
Fear not, I'm not going anywhere and you will still see regular content on here, albeit I suspect exploring new directions, topics, and media.
My ask from you is this: if you are interested in learning more about specific topics, methods, processes, tools, or anything else that more or less relates to promoting architecture, leave a comment below and I'll do my best to address your question.
The topics I want to explore, in no particular order are SEO, video, live casting, effective advocacy, the blockchain, and motorcycles... although I have a hard time linking motorcycles to design promotion, except perhaps for using them as a prop in photographs, but I’m all ears!
I've already touched on some of these in the past, but I know for a fact that it's not the last time I'll have something to say about these...
Oh, and my 36,000 words goal was reached a couple of paragraphs above... how about that?
