On the heels of a recent post about yelling vs whispering when marketing a service business, JC Chilvers expands on those ideas, specifically as they relate to email marketing. He calls it "Mies van der Rohe Marketing".
If you do anything with your email list, these are words worth heeding, and if you find yourself on the receiving end of too many spammy messages, apple is offering great privacy features, as the article suggests, but there is another email provider who's been pioneering users privacy: HEY.
I've switched to it a while back in my quixotic attempt to de-googleify my life and while their are minor issues with their interface that are lacking (although they constantly add new features), the overall design is great, very intuitive and super protective of your privacy. Unlike google it's not free, but a small price to pay to get out of reach of its tentacles.
