A few months ago, a strange monolith, not unlike those of Kubrick's cult movie 2001: A Space Odyssey's artifacts appeared in the middle of the Utah desert, only to be removed shortly thereafter under equally mysterious circumstances.
It's illegal to install structures of any kind on the federal lands that this monolith was on, but as a piece of art designed to generate buzz and the corresponding controversy, it worked, since getting into the story is addictive and if you don't find yourself furiously searching for additional information after reading the article, then you have supreme self-control.
